Add City Clash to TIP-28

TL;DR: City Clash is a day one Trove launch partner, has a sizeable treasury, is actively being played and improved on, and has consistently contributed to the Treasure ecosystem. We’re small, but we meet the given criteria for TIP-28 as outlined in more detail below.

Noah and I have worked so hard to build something cool with City Clash. We’re obviously not huge, but we were a day one (bloody Monday) Trove partner. In hindsight, we quite literally delayed our launch from the best of times to the worst of times in order to be a part of Trove. We’ve built a fully functional game that people are actually playing, and is unlike anything else within the Treasure ecosystem. We have a significant treasury comprised of MAGIC, ETH, and ARB, and we’ve paid out thousands of MAGIC to our users. The community treasury has primarily LP’ed MAGIC/ETH for almost 1 year now and awards the yield as prizes every week to the City Clash winning faction. In addition, all trading is directed towards Trove as only trades on Trove can help boost winning odds. We’re official Arbitrum partners (x.com), and are participating in Arbitrum governance as a community.

As project founders, we’ve also tried to add value to the Treasure community in other ways. We’ve hosted Trove Showcase Series events (x.com) and went on the Magic Hour podcast (x.com)

We have the support of Topper from Realm and Fantine from Smol Sharks. Here are Topper’s words: “I agree that it is justified to include City Clash in TIP-28(or soon in the future TIP allocation). Joined their Discord in April ‘22, minted towers and then in June minted cities for City Clash. It’s a hidden gem with fun strategy game play. I appreciate the opportunities to play a slower paced and thought invoking game with long term vision. It’s a nice change of pace adding variety for the Treasure ecosystem. Reminds me of playing the Risk board game when I was younger which was enjoyable. The team has done well providing value back to the community with weekly rewards for map winners and a pot for flip rewards when a new color takes over the map. The team members are great people that are knowledgeable and interact positively with the community as well. It’s exciting to think of the good use and creativity they will be able to put an ARB allocation to.”

In a show of support, our community helped us top the Trove volume charts last week:

All ARB we’d receive would go directly to our community treasury, which is used to generate yield for weekly payouts. Because of our clever economic model, City Clash’s payouts to users are already significant relative to our size, and receiving a part of this distribution would give us a huge boost, making our NFTs and game more valuable, thereby helping us grow further! We’re not asking for an equal distribution to a larger project, but we are asking for our commitment to Treasure and our continued effort to be rewarded.

We intend to continue developing City Clash part-time as we’ve been doing regardless of whether or not we receive the allocation. None of the allocation would go to the dev team, directly or indirectly (as we’re ineligible to win the yield from the game’s treasury). The entire allocation would be used to increase LP positions in ETH/ARB and/or MAGIC/ETH, which will grow the yield we can pay out to our winners. Higher treasury → higher yield → higher prizes → more demand for cities → more people playing → more fun/competitive.
